This piece was painted during a time that felt heavy.
The tone in our country has felt harsher. The division louder. The way people speak to and about one another has weighed on me. I do not paint protest art. I paint what I believe is worth protecting.
So I painted a familiar storefront after the rain.
Blue trim. Hanging vines. Warm light in the windows. Reflections stretching across wet pavement. A quiet reminder that sweetness, dignity, and community still exist.
This painting is not about ignoring what is happening. It is about responding to it. Choosing to create light. Choosing steadiness. Choosing beauty after the storm.
